Recipe of cooking Steak Frites
Recipe for steak frites, a classic French dish consisting of steak and French fries:
Ingredients:
- 2 sirloin steaks (about 8 ounces each)
- 4 large russet potatoes
- 4 tablespoons olive oil
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1 tablespoon butter
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
Instructions:
1. Preheat your oven to 450°F (230°C). Place a baking sheet in the oven to preheat as well.
2. Start by preparing the potatoes. Peel them and cut them into long, thin strips to make the fries. Rinse the cut potatoes under cold water to remove excess starch.
3. Place the potato strips in a large bowl and toss them with 2 tablespoons of olive oil until they are evenly coated. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
4. Carefully remove the preheated baking sheet from the oven. Spread the potato strips on the hot baking sheet in a single layer, making sure they don't overlap.
5. Return the baking sheet to the oven and bake for about 30-35 minutes, or until the fries are golden brown and crispy. Flip them halfway through the cooking time to ensure even browning.6. While the fries are baking, prepare the steaks. Season both sides of each steak with salt and pepper.
7.Heat the remaining 2 tablespoons of olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Once the oil is hot, add the steaks and cook for about 3-4 minutes per side for medium-rare, or adjust the cooking time according to your desired level of doneness. For a thicker steak, you may need to cook it longer.
8. Towards the end of the cooking time for the steaks, add the butter and minced garlic to the skillet. Baste the steaks with the melted butter and garlic mixture, flipping them once or twice to evenly coat them.
9. Remove the steaks from the skillet and let them rest for a few minutes. This allows the juices to redistribute, resulting in a more flavorful and tender steak.
10. Once the fries are ready, remove them from the oven and let them cool slightly. Season them with a bit more salt if desired.
11. To serve, place a steak on each plate and serve alongside a generous portion of the crispy fries. Garnish with freshly chopped parsley.
enjoy your meal!
