How to cook chicken momo
Ingredients:
- 250g ground chicken
- 1/2 onion, finely chopped
- 1 garlic clove, minced
- 1/2 inch ginger, grated
- 1/4 cup chopped cilantro
- 1/2 tsp ground cumin
- 1/2 tsp ground coriander
- 1/2 tsp turmeric powder
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 20-25 dumpling wrappers
- Water for sealing
Instructions:
In a mixing bowl, add ground chicken, chopped onions, minced garlic, grated ginger, chopped cilantro, cumin, coriander, turmeric powder, salt and pepper. Mix everything together until well combined.
Place a tablespoon of the chicken mixture in the center of a dumpling wrapper. Dip your finger in water and wet the edges of the wrapper.
Fold the wrapper in half and seal the edges by pressing them together. You can also pleat the edges of the wrapper to create a more decorative effect.
Repeat the process with the remaining wrappers and chicken mixture until all of the momos are assembled.
Heat a pot of water on the stove until it reaches a rolling boil. Place the momos in a steamer basket and steam them over the boiling water for 10-12 minutes, or until the chicken is cooked through.
Serve the chicken momos hot with a side of spicy dipping sauce, such as a mix of soy sauce, vinegar, chili flakes, garlic, and ginger.
