Recipe of cooking butter chicken
Ingredients:
- 500 grams boneless chicken, cut into cubes
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
- 1 large onion, finely chopped
- 3 cloves of garlic, minced
- 1-inch piece of ginger, grated
- 2 teaspoons garam masala
- 1 teaspoon turmeric powder
- 1 teaspoon ground cumin
- 1 teaspoon ground coriander
- 1 teaspoon chili powder (adjust according to your spice preference)
- 1 cup tomato puree
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1 tablespoon dried fenugreek leaves (kasuri methi), crushed
- Salt to taste
- Fresh cilantro (coriander leaves) for garnish
Instructions:
- Heat the vegetable oil and butter in a large pan over medium heat.
- Add the chopped onion and sauté until golden brown.
- Add the minced garlic and grated ginger to the pan and cook for another minute, stirring frequently.
- In a small bowl, mix together the garam masala, turmeric powder, ground cumin, ground coriander, and chili powder.
- Add the spice mixture to the pan and cook for a minute, stirring well to coat the onions with the spices.
- Add the chicken cubes to the pan and cook until they are lightly browned on all sides.
- Pour in the tomato puree and season with salt. Stir well to combine.
- Reduce the heat to low, cover the pan, and let the chicken simmer for about 15-20 minutes, or until the chicken is cooked through and tender.
- Stir in the heavy cream and crushed dried fenugreek leaves. Simmer for another 5 minutes.
- Taste and adjust the seasoning if needed.
- Garnish with fresh cilantro (coriander leaves) before serving.
- Serve hot with naan bread or steamed rice.
