Recipe of cooking butter chicken

Ingredients:

  • 500 grams boneless chicken, cut into cubes
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
  • 1 large onion, finely chopped
  • 3 cloves of garlic, minced
  • 1-inch piece of ginger, grated
  • 2 teaspoons garam masala
  • 1 teaspoon turmeric powder
  • 1 teaspoon ground cumin
  • 1 teaspoon ground coriander
  • 1 teaspoon chili powder (adjust according to your spice preference)
  • 1 cup tomato puree
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 tablespoon dried fenugreek leaves (kasuri methi), crushed
  • Salt to taste
  • Fresh cilantro (coriander leaves) for garnish

Instructions:

  1. Heat the vegetable oil and butter in a large pan over medium heat.
  2. Add the chopped onion and sauté until golden brown.
  3. Add the minced garlic and grated ginger to the pan and cook for another minute, stirring frequently.
  4. In a small bowl, mix together the garam masala, turmeric powder, ground cumin, ground coriander, and chili powder.
  5. Add the spice mixture to the pan and cook for a minute, stirring well to coat the onions with the spices.
  6. Add the chicken cubes to the pan and cook until they are lightly browned on all sides.
  7. Pour in the tomato puree and season with salt. Stir well to combine.
  8. Reduce the heat to low, cover the pan, and let the chicken simmer for about 15-20 minutes, or until the chicken is cooked through and tender.
  9. Stir in the heavy cream and crushed dried fenugreek leaves. Simmer for another 5 minutes.
  10. Taste and adjust the seasoning if needed.
  11. Garnish with fresh cilantro (coriander leaves) before serving.
  12. Serve hot with naan bread or steamed rice.
