Recipe of making pizza at home
Ingredients for the pizza dough:
- 2 ¼ teaspoons (1 packet) active dry yeast
- 1 teaspoon sugar
- 1 cup warm water
- 2 ½ cups all-purpose flour
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 teaspoon salt
Ingredients for the pizza toppings (you can customize these to your liking):
- Tomato sauce or pizza sauce
- Shredded mozzarella cheese
- Sliced pepperoni
- Sliced bell peppers
- Sliced onions
- Sliced mushrooms
- Fresh basil leaves
- Grated Parmesan cheese
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions:
In a small bowl, combine the warm water, sugar, and yeast. Let it sit for about 5 minutes, or until the mixture becomes frothy.
In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour and salt. Make a well in the center and pour in the yeast mixture and olive oil.
Mix the ingredients together until a dough forms. You can use a spoon or your hands. Once the dough starts to come together, transfer it to a floured surface.
Knead the dough for about 5-7 minutes until it becomes smooth and elastic. If the dough is too sticky, you can add a little more flour.
Place the dough in a greased bowl and cover it with a clean kitchen towel. Allow it to rise in a warm place for about 1-2 hours, or until it doubles in size.
Preheat your oven to the highest temperature setting (usually around 475°F/245°C).
Once the dough has risen, punch it down to release any air bubbles. Transfer it to a floured surface and divide it into two equal portions (for two pizzas). You can also make smaller or larger pizzas, depending on your preference.
Roll out each portion of the dough into a thin circle or your desired pizza shape.
Place the rolled-out dough on a baking sheet or pizza stone. If using a baking sheet, you can sprinkle it with a little cornmeal to prevent sticking.
Spread a thin layer of tomato sauce or pizza sauce over the dough, leaving a small border around the edges.
Sprinkle shredded mozzarella cheese evenly over the sauce. Add your desired toppings such as pepperoni, bell peppers, onions, mushrooms, and any other ingredients you like.
Season the pizza with salt and pepper to taste, and sprinkle some grated Parmesan cheese on top.
Carefully transfer the pizza to the preheated oven and bake for about 12-15 minutes, or until the crust is golden brown and the cheese is bubbly and melted.
Once the pizza is done, remove it from the oven and let it cool for a few minutes. Slice and serve hot.
Enjoy your homemade pizza! Feel free to experiment with different toppings and flavors to create your perfect pizza.
