How to cook pasta at home with white sauce

 Ingredients:

  • 8 oz. pasta (such as spaghetti or fettuccine)
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 2 tbsp all-purpose flour
  • 2 cups milk
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions:

  1. Cook the pasta according to package directions. Drain and set aside.
  2. In a separate pan, melt the butter over medium heat.
  3. Add the flour and whisk until smooth. Cook for 1-2 minutes until lightly browned.
  4. Gradually whisk in the milk until the sauce is smooth.
  5. Cook the sauce, stirring constantly, until it thickens and coats the back of a spoon, about 5-7 minutes.
  6. Add the grated Parmesan cheese and stir until melted.
  7. Season the sauce with salt and pepper to taste.
  8. Add the cooked pasta to the sauce and toss until the pasta is coated in the sauce.
  9. Serve hot, garnished with additional Parmesan cheese if desired.
