Recipe of making cheesy crust pizza
Ingredients:
For the pizza dough:
- 2 ¼ teaspoons (1 packet) active dry yeast
- 1 teaspoon sugar
- 1 cup warm water
- 2 ½ cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
For the cheesy crust:
- 1 ½ cups shredded mozzarella cheese
- ¼ cup grated Parmesan cheese
For the pizza toppings:
- 1 cup pizza sauce
- 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
- Your choice of additional toppings (e.g., pepperoni, mushrooms, bell peppers, etc.)
Instructions:
In a small bowl, combine the active dry yeast, sugar, and warm water. Stir gently and let it sit for about 5 minutes until the mixture becomes frothy.
In a large mixing bowl, combine the all-purpose flour and salt. Create a well in the center and pour in the yeast mixture and olive oil.
Stir the mixture until it comes together, then transfer it to a lightly floured surface. Knead the dough for about 5-7 minutes until it becomes smooth and elastic.
Place the dough in a greased bowl and cover it with a clean kitchen towel. Let it rise in a warm place for about 1-2 hours or until it doubles in size.
Preheat your oven to 475°F (245°C). If you have a pizza stone, place it in the oven while it preheats.
Punch down the risen dough and divide it into two equal portions. Take one portion and roll it out into a circle or your desired pizza shape.
Sprinkle the shredded mozzarella cheese and grated Parmesan cheese evenly around the edge of the rolled-out dough, leaving a 1-inch border.
Fold the edge of the dough over the cheese, sealing it well to create the cheesy crust. Repeat the process with the second portion of dough.
Transfer the prepared dough onto a baking sheet or a preheated pizza stone. Pre-bake the crusts for about 5-7 minutes until they start to turn golden.
Remove the partially baked crusts from the oven and spread the pizza sauce evenly over the center of each crust, leaving the cheesy crust untouched.
Sprinkle the shredded mozzarella cheese over the sauce and add your desired toppings.
Place the pizzas back in the oven and bake for another 12-15 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly, and the crust is golden brown.
