cooking Chicken Parmesan:

Ingredients:

  • 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 large eggs, beaten
  • 1 cup bread crumbs
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 2 cups marinara sauce
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/4 cup chopped fresh basil (optional)
  • Olive oil, for fryinghttps://drive.google.com/uc?export=view&id=1etsQ5wyUMosvTjKR21thNbZKils_tQIg

Instructions:

  1. 1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).Place the chicken breasts on a cutting board and cover them with plastic wrap.

    2. Pound the chicken with a meat mallet or the bottom of a heavy pan until they are about 1/2 inch thick. Season the chicken with salt and pepper on both sides.

  2. 3. Set up three shallow bowls or plates. In the first bowl, place the flour. In the second bowl, beat the eggs. In the third bowl, mix together the bread crumbs and grated Parmesan cheese.

  3. 4. Take one chicken breast at a time and coat it in the flour, shaking off any excess. Dip it into the beaten eggs, allowing any excess to drip off. Finally, press the chicken breast into the bread crumb mixture, ensuring it is coated evenly.

     5. Repeat this process with the remaining chicken breasts.

  4. 6. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the breaded chicken breasts to the skillet and cook for about 3-4 minutes on each side, or until golden brown and crispy. You may need to cook them in batches to avoid overcrowding the pan.

    7.  Remove the cooked chicken breasts from the skillet and drain them on a paper towel-lined plate.

  5. 8. Pour half of the marinara sauce into a baking dish. Place the breaded chicken breasts on top of the sauce. Spoon the remaining marinara sauce over the chicken breasts, spreading it evenly.

     9. Sprinkle the shredded mozzarella cheese on top.

  6. 10. Bake the chicken Parmesan in the preheated oven for about 20-25 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly, and the chicken is cooked through.

  7. 11. Once cooked, remove the dish from the oven and let it rest for a few minutes. Garnish with chopped fresh basil, if desired, before serving.

Chicken Parmesan is often served with spaghetti or a side of garlic bread. Enjoy your delicious homemade Chicken Parmesan!
